Bravo Fraser! Mike and I thoroughly appreciated reading your memoir and hope that it finds a broad audience. Your passionate plea for the vital role newspapers play in our democracy rang so true. In this age where concern for truth and fairness in governance are in question, we sorely need journalists who can shine a light in dark corners. Your book was well written with lively stories of some remarkable folks. Honestly we laughed right out loud at some of your descriptions of people and events. We also deeply appreciate the commitment to community so many of your colleagues evidenced in their work. What a worry for all of us that newspapers are becoming “hollowed out” as you describe. We need them more than ever in the precarious age in which we live now. Thank you for writing with so much wit and wisdom.
